Show #3 'Slightly Miscellaneous'

Found objects by Ryan (2011)

On this particular broadcast a bit of this and a bit of that.

Vinyl, iPod, discs and even, yes, a Zune.

Spontaneous, mostly unhampered and a bit crazy at times.

Expect to hear more shows like this in the future when we haven't really any playlist planned.

We failed to mention during the broadcast that Spell 336's 'Silence' can be also be found on a fantastic recently released compilation called The Shoegaze Collective Sounds: A Worldwide Sound Explosion featuring dozens of wonderful artists as well as Ryan's own project Plasticstatic.

A video recording of this broadcast, including a guided tour of the KWCW studio, can also be found on our Ustream channel I Hung Around In Your Static.

Show #1 'Plastic Passion Pt. 1'

All vinyl show...

'As though Ryan's #1' (2011)

In case you weren't able to hear the live broadcast, when we started up Turntable 1 in the K-dub studio it played but no sound was to be heard whatsoever.

Must be a messed up cable or something or other.

So we were left with only one turntable for our 'all vinyl' show which, suffice to say, does NOT exactly work in our favour.

Anyway, we survived the show (and so did our listeners) albeit all the complications put all five of us -three guests included: My sister Kalurah, her husband Jason and our cousin Maija, in quite a silly mood.

It's polished up much for this post.

We hope that you manage to enjoy it.

Incidentally, most of the broadcast's video was also recorded although unedited.

Show #7 'The Twenty-First Pt.1'

Mix Show #2 (2004)

Paul Klee 'Ancient Sound' (1925)

This is part one of a mix made for my very good friend Amy back in 2004 who was moving to the Portland area at the time.

The whole concept of 'The Twenty-First' was all songs from the 'twenty-first century', although looking back there are a few discrepancies.

Nonetheless, it's still enjoyable, for myself anyway, to listen to and hopefully you agree.
Next week we'll bring you part two of the mix.

Show #6 'Rebellious Jukebox'

Marine Girls

The second installment of the Rebellious Jukebox edition.

I've sort of changed the whole concept of what these shows are.
What I've decided is they'll be kind of 'freeform' just a playlist of similar-sounding songs (in chronological order) that I really dig and have a certain vibe. Then I just see where the songs take me.

While compiling this I noticed there's quite a few songs from 1981, not sure how that happened, I suppose a lot of great music came out that year.

You hear The Common Men once again as you did in the last 'Rebellious Jukebox' show.
As well The Solar System which was heard on Show #7 of last Spring.
And Mirror Mirror whom we've played many a time.
Be certain to check out all of these bands!

By the way, Abecedarians is pronounced: A-B-C darians.
Yeah, so we did get that one wrong. :^P
